My path here wasn't a straight line. I trained as a biochemist, then earned an MBA in International Business. Over the next two decades in the U.S., I built a career in finance and client service — licensed in stock brokerage and insurance, working as a financial advisor and investment banker, then in security and telecom sales. Different industries, same lesson: people deserve advisors who take their obligations seriously.
 

That grounding is what led me back to a question I couldn't shake: when a multinational oil company sets up in a Nigerian community, who actually benefits? I pursued a Doctorate in Business Administration, and my dissertation — CSR of Oil Multinationals in Nigeria: Stakeholders' Perspective — took me deep into the oil-producing communities of the Niger Delta, my own home region. What I found was a persistent gap between what corporate responsibility promised and what communities experienced. That gap became my life's work.
